Recently I purchased a glass Pepsi sign from the 1940s. What were these signs used for? Most glass signs were used at soda fountains. They were inserted in places where they could be illuminated from the back side. Some glass signs were used as point of sale signs. These were usually framed with wood or metal, and not designed to be illuminated.
